Okay About 2 weeks ago I got a puppy, some ppl were giving them away they told me she was a pomeranian. I took he because she was so freaking adorable, and the conditions they had her in weren't the best. She was only 4 weeks old when I got her she is now 6 weeks. Her mom died. Anyway she is my heart and I love my little girl to death but Im starting to believe she isnt a pom, which if she isnt I really dont care, I love her but now Im trying to figure out what in the world she is lol. There is some pictures below. Those picks were taken when I first got her. She hasnt changed much she just got a little fatter lol.

I agree that there is a possibility of a terrier mixed with pom. If you can view this image, it is of a Chow/Terrier mix (Chows are another Spitz breed, larger but shares characteristics) The second is a Pom/Shi-tzu mix, with which your puppy has a similar look.

The dog breed guessing game. I had two large mixes who we were always guessing about. One we were told was a Rottweiller/ German Shepard, but from her appearance looked like a Rott/Doberman cross. Beautiful and wonderful nonetheless. We do have a little Pom as well, and at eight weeks she was a little fluff ball. If you are very curious, you can try canine DNA testing. Some vets are also good at guessing the breed mix.

Good for you that you rescued a dog. Soooo adorable as well.
The more that I look at the pics, the more I see a possibility of a Chow/Lab mix. How old is the puppy and how much does she weigh? A Pom at eight weeks should weigh less than two pounds. Check her tongue for black/blue coloring, even way in the back. My Chow/Lab had black at he very back of his tongue, only detected with the biggest yawn ever:) I would take another answer's advice and begin training asap. She looks pretty feisty.

she not a pom.
She isnt a pomeranian? Picture included?
myspace photos only work if the person viewing has a myspace account as well. I don't. Photobucket is better for a venue such as this, as everybody can view the pics without needing an account.
She isnt a pomeranian? Picture included?
She definatly is not a pom. Here's a pomeranian puppy at 8 weeks.

i know dogs pretty well and she still looks a little to young to tell ....in my opinion most poms are either all black, yellow-tan, or tan/black..... not many are black/white.... but her a video ... your puppy looks like these so i think she might be... but anyway wait a little bit longer to see how she developes ..... her fur has to come in soon and you'll know then.....

She isnt a pomeranian? Picture included?
I saw all of your pics and she doesn't look like a pom to me. Very cute tho for sure. Wish she could have stayed with the little alot longer, but if conditions were bad, glad that you got her out of there. Just remember she is a dog, not a baby, and you have to set up rules for her. At 10 weeks you can get her started in training classes for puppies. Socializing is very important also. I would be afraid of stepping on her.

This dog looks like a black lab mix to me....
She isnt a pomeranian? Picture included?

Hope you have a good vet. Your puppy needs you to be concerned about her health and well-being.
Please do your homework. Your puppy will need a lot of extra socialization, as she has missed out on a crucial development period with her litter and mother. This is serious - please do everything in your power to be certain that your dog has a healthy upbringing.

Maybe she is a border collie.Or if your anxious to find out what breed she is , wait till she grows a little and maybe you'll find out.

Ok, at her age, it's almost impossible to tell. Wait until she's about 12 weeks old, and repost this question, as we'll be able to tell a little more about her, as her facial features form a bit more.
Every Pomeranian pup I've seen, already had a poof of fur, so I wouldn't think your puppy is of that breed, as she seems to have short hair. She also looks a bit bigger than you'd expect a Pomeranian to be, at her age. She may be a medium breed, and not a small breed.
Most likely, if someone was giving these puppies away for free, they probably aren't purebred, but as she gets older, you may be able to determine which breed(s) are dominant in her appearance.
Also, there's always the dna thing available at vet clinics now, where they can give you a list of breeds that are in your dog (I think I would do that with a random mixed breed, just out of curiousity!)

Not a pomeranian....sorry
Good thing it didn't matter to you.

Its hard to tell at such a young age. I don't think she si pom though. You should take her to the vet and ask them.

Oh no, She's not a little pom pom.She sure is cute though!
She isnt a pomeranian? Picture included?
Well, I don't know enough about dog breeds to tell you what she is. It is possible that there is Pomeranian MIXED into her which is why they said she was a pom. It's very odd that somebody would give a purebred puppy away for free.
Here's really the best thing to do right now. SERIOUSLY. Take your dog to a veterinarian because health issues need to be dealt with EARLY so that your dog does not have problems and that your puppy does not die.
Your dog has missed out on important socialization that she would have needed until she was about 8 weeks old. Since she lost her mother and has been removed from her litter, she needs to be socialized properly and she needs to learn not to bite. She will not know not to bite, because she wasn't in her litter long enough to learn that.
After you take her to the vet (who will probably be able to help you more with identifying her breed), take her to a dog behaviorist who can teach you how to properly handle and socialize her so that you do not run into dog behavior problems in the future. Oh and when she's biting that guy's nose, that's NOT GOOD. I know she's a puppy and it's cute right now and all, but that's actually teaching her to bite people. If you don't deal with this, your dog will bite at people's faces when she's older.
