what makes you say you are "totally" in love with the guy? i agree with the first answer you got... which is you are probably just infatuated with him. maybe he's your only close guy friend? i think he's just being friendly when he compliments you because he's in love with somebody else. i think there's not much you can do unless you tell him straightforward how you feel and ask him if he feels/could feel the same way to you.

Just tell him, thats the only thing I would do or I'd forget about him, because hints doesnt work and when they don't, you cant understand he got the hint and ignored you or didn't even get the hint. So be brave and tell him, or forget about him.

ask him out....if he says that he likes the other girl....ask him if it was the one that turns him down all the time...and say that he deserves a person that wont treat him like crap...hope you the best of luck!!!!

Be careful of the phrases "you're cute" and "you're a great girl." Guys don't often say that to girls they're actually really attracted to.

Here's one way to see if you can get him interested; cut off communication with him for a couple weeks or so. By playing hard to get for just a little while, you might get him to realize just how much he misses your friendship and affection. And if he starts to think of you that way, you'll get into his thoughts and he'll dwell on you long enough to develop interest.

An alternative method is just to tell him how you feel straight up. It's a huge risk, but in life we're often called to take risks.

you can go tell him straight on, he said you were cute and he may realize that the other girl doesnt pay attention to him. everything is different on the internet that in person, you can say whatever online but in person other things come into play. if you like this guy then go for it, but dont feel bad if he says no, just move on with your life other guys will come by.
